As we develop in our areas of professional expertise, conferences become increasingly critical to experience. The connections, inspiration and education you take away from these gatherings are unparalleled to most other events.
Why attend them? I lay down the bottom-line advantage in a previous posting:
“the general idea behind attending an industry conference is two-fold: to stay plugged in and to recharge. Industry conferences offer an element of newness and insight into what’s current in the industry and where the industry is going in the future. Besides, you’ve got to get out of the office and see what is going on outside of your cubicle walls.”
Although conferences can be highly beneficial for you, your team, and your brand, it can be difficult to choose the best one to attend. For that matter, it can be a pain to find a comprehensive list of your options.

Jen: Thanks so much for mentioning A Better World by Design on your list! As the professional advisor to this student-led socially conscious design conference, it’s amazing to see how this event has grown since 2008…..over 3,500 participants in five years and students from 32 colleges/universities participating just last year (alongside professionals and academics). Thanks again for the mention!
I would love to see you include the Sustainable Brands conference on your list. This year’s 7th International gathering over 1500 bisiness and brand strategists, designers and sustainability experts from two dozen countries around the world once again carries the conversation about environmental and social innovation as a driver of business and brand value to the next level as the conversation shifts from Revolution to Renaissance. You can learn more here: sb13.co
Let’s not forget WMC Fest – http://wmcfest.com
Definitely, Joann!
After experiencing last year, I couldn’t agree more. There is so much in sustainability that stems from design and creative thinking.
SB has been added to the list!
Added! Thank you, Simon!
